Stories Etched is a series of ceramic vessels created through sgraffito, using contrast and incision to carve personal narratives into the clay surface. Dark slips are etched back to reveal lighter bodies beneath, allowing images, text, and memory to emerge through acts of removal rather than addition. These works explore lived experience, grief, intimacy, and inherited histories, often expressed through highly detailed botanical motifs and symbolic imagery. Decorative surfaces become sites of storytelling, where emotion and memory are held within the vessel itself. The process of etching is both deliberate and reflective, mirroring the way personal histories are uncovered, layered, and preserved over time.
